Splinterlands Presents its Latest Reward Cards Update

TL;DR

  • Splinterlands launched the Rebellion reward card expansion. Replacing Chaos Legion cards, which can now be unbound for purchasing, selling, or using on players’ lands.
  • The expansion includes 43 cards, divided into 12 common, 12 rare, 7 epic, and 12 legendary cards. Introducing new abilities such as Mimic and Corrupted Healing.
  • Chaos Legion cards can be unbound from soul with a cost in Dark Energy Crystals (DEC) that increases every 30 days. Their burning reduces the DEC supply in the Splinterlands ecosystem.

On August 15th, Splinterlands (SPS) released a new reward card expansion as part of the Rebellion set. This update marks the end of the availability of Chaos Legion reward cards, which are no longer obtainable from reward shops. However, these cards can now be “unbound,” allowing them to be bought, sold, rented, traded, delegated, or even used as workers on players’ lands.

The new Rebellion expansion includes a total of 43 cards, consisting of 12 common, 12 rare, 7 epic, and 12 legendary cards. These cards introduce new abilities designed to alter current game strategies. Among the new abilities are Mimic, which allows cards to gain abilities from enemy teams during battles, and Corrupted Healing, which restores a portion of allied units’ max health but reduces their max health with each healing.

Additionally, a new concept called “Debilitations” was introduced, which, instead of negatively affecting enemies, impacts allied units. Cards with Debilitations, such as Incendiary, Electrified, and Weary, have higher stats for their mana cost.

Splinterlands Will Improve its Ranked Battle System

Splinterlands Will Burn Coins Used in Card Unbinding

Rebellion reward cards, like those from Chaos Legion, are initially soulbound, meaning they cannot be traded until they are unbound. The process of unbinding Chaos Legion cards is now available and incurs a cost in Dark Energy Crystals (DEC). Varying according to the card’s power. This cost will increase every 30 days.

The pricing model implemented for unbinding is designed to maintain card values in the market and prevent a drop in prices. Additionally, DEC used for unbinding cards will be burned, reducing the total supply of the currency within the Splinterlands ecosystem.

This new Rebellion card expansion brings new strategies and a refreshed gameplay dynamic for Splinterlands players. Who can now enjoy a wider variety of options and challenges in their battles.
