YGG Play Summit: A Global Hub for Web3 Gaming

Held in Manila, the YGG Play Summit proved to be the largest Web3 gaming event of its kind, attracting enthusiasts, developers, and industry leaders from around the world. The event featured dynamic panels, fireside chats, and networking opportunities, with notable speakers such as CCP Games CEO Hilmar Veigar Pétursson, Sky Mavis co-founder Jihoz, and esports icon Fatal1ty. Discussions revolved around Web3’s role in reshaping gaming and the future of metaverse economies.

Highlights included the red carpet premiere of Metaverse Filipino Worker, a documentary exploring how Web3 is creating career opportunities within the Philippines, and the in-person GAM3 Awards, where Off The Grid dominated and YellowPanther earned Content Creator of the Year.

Onchain Guilds and GAP’s Record-Breaking Growth

One of YGG’s most exciting Q4 developments was the introduction of Onchain Guilds on Base. This initiative allows guilds to operate transparently on-chain, fostering a new level of trust and collaboration. By December, 75 guilds had joined the program, amassing a combined wallet value of nearly $750,000. Sando Gang, with 503 members, led as the largest Onchain Guild, followed closely by NFTXSTREET and Guild Genesis.

Guild participation surged with GAP Season 8, which coincided with the Onchain Guilds launch. Over 21,000 questers participated, tripling previous engagement numbers. Games like Anichess, Blast Royale, and Champions Tactics enriched the season’s lineup, while innovative projects such as Copute debuted under the Future of Work (FoW) initiative.

As YGG moves into 2025, its focus remains on innovation, ecosystem growth, and empowering gamers worldwide. With initiatives like Onchain Guilds and FoW gaining momentum, the guild is poised to redefine the future of Web3 gaming.
