AlphaTON Capital Corp, a U.S.-based digital asset treasury company, confirmed plans to acquire a controlling interest in Gamee, a platform that has been transforming the web3 gaming landscape on Telegram. The acquisition covers a 51% stake in Gamee and includes the purchase of 51% of GMEE and WAT tokens from Gamee’s treasury. Additional investments of $3 million and $1 million are planned for GMEE and WAT tokens from the open market, demonstrating AlphaTON’s strong commitment to integrating fully with Gamee’s ecosystem and supporting its continued innovation.

Token Investments Signal Commitment To Growth And Integration

The GMEE and WAT tokens, currently valued at $4 million and $260,000 respectively, have experienced steep declines of 79% and 94% over the past year. Despite this, Gamee has maintained strong engagement with over 61 million registered Telegram users. AlphaTON’s strategic move signals confidence in the platform’s long-term growth potential and the ability to leverage digital assets to scale operations effectively and reach a wider global audience.

AlphaTON recently strengthened its financial position by securing $71 million in new capital, including a $35 million loan from BitGo Prime, alongside plans to invest $30 million into TON tokens. The company is also exploring a TON-based platform for healthcare insurance claims, highlighting its broader strategy to expand digital asset use cases beyond gaming.

Yat Siu, executive chairman of Animoca Brands, commented on the acquisition’s potential, stating that Gamee could become the first Nasdaq-listed web3 gaming company with gaming assets traded on a major exchange. He emphasized that this demonstrates how digital asset companies can extend into profitable operating businesses while using proceeds to further accumulate digital assets.

TON

CEO Brittany Kaiser remarked that AlphaTON aims to support the top founders within Telegram’s ecosystem. She noted that the acquisition reflects the company’s confidence in Gamee’s talented team and the platform’s large user base, presenting a high-growth opportunity for both AlphaTON and the broader web3 gaming sector.

This move positions AlphaTON as a major player in digital gaming, combining token investments with strategic operational growth to capture a significant presence in the evolving web3 market while exploring additional avenues for innovation.
