Season 12 of Axie Infinity: Origins is now live, offering players the chance to compete for a total of 90K AXS in rewards over the next eight weeks. 80% of this amount, or 80K AXS, will be distributed among the top 15,000 positions in the ranking, while the remaining 10% will be divided into additional rewards. Of these, 7K AXS will be given through collectible chests, and 3K AXS will be awarded to the champion of the Elite 8 tournament.
One of the most important new features is the introduction of an exclusive Jin avatar, a character linked to the opening of Ronin, which will be given to all Origins players as a limited-time gift. Players will be able to use this avatar in their battles within the game.
In addition, Axie Origins has implemented a new daily “Check-In” feature, through which players can earn points by logging in with an axie. These points can be redeemed in the shop for runes, charm boxes, and crafting materials. Furthermore, higher-level axies will earn more points, and collectible axies will have the opportunity to generate additional points through the Elite Check-In system.
Axie Overhauls Battle System and Buffs
The Gauntlet Mode also returns with several changes. Players will now pay with stamina instead of SLP to participate in battles, making it easier for players to access this game mode. Additionally, the buffs applied during the matches have been simplified, with global effects that can be randomly modified. The system also introduces new random rules that will alter the course of the battles, adding an unpredictable element to the mode.
Furthermore, the upgrade cost for Mystic runes from level 2 to level 3 has been reduced, which should make it easier for players to access the upgrades necessary to optimize their teams. Several balancing updates have also been implemented that affect the overall gameplay of the season.
Finally, players are reminded that those with collectible axies who reach a Dragon rank or higher during the Rare Era will receive chests full of tickets redeemable for AXS.
