- Economic changes to NESO currency accompany a $50 million Ecosystem Fund.
NEXPACE confirms a scheduled update for MapleStory N on December 18. The release introduces a higher tier of character development alongside new playable areas. It also modifies the game’s digital economy and starts a series of winter events.
New Character Progression and World Expansion Arrive December 18
The central addition is the Fifth Job Advancement, a new stage for character growth. A related V Matrix system lets players customize their skills using items called Nodes. The update opens three regions: Vanishing Journey, Chu Chu Island, and Lachelein. Each area includes new enemy bosses for players to challenge.
A specific character class, the Cygnus Knights, receives improvements for later game content. The amount of experience needed to reach level 200 is now lower. This change allows players to access the new Fifth Job content more quickly.

The developer adjusted systems to streamline play. New features include character appearance presets and better tools for managing gear. The process of finding a group for cooperative play is also improved.
Economic Adjustments Accompany a $50 Million Fund
NEXPACE made changes to the game’s internal economy. The company revised the NESO currency rewards from boss battles. This currency can be converted into assets recorded on a blockchain. A new automated farming event will let players gather resources while offline.
Alongside the update, a $50 million Ecosystem Fund is active. The fund aims to expand the game’s overall user network and support its web3 features.
Special time-limited events will run from December 18 through February 26. These include the Mega Burning and Vlessing Winter events designed to help player advancement.
Sunyoung Hwang, the CEO of NEXPACE, commented on the update. Hwang stated that bringing the Fifth Job Advancement to MapleStory N marks an important point for the game series. The CEO said the update combines the game’s progression-focused design with its ongoing web3 development.
