STX1, the inaugural event, allows Extraction Pack holders to enjoy SHRAPNEL before the official release and contribute ideas to influence development. Unlike the experimental version MPX.1, STX is a complete shooter with new features such as weapons, accessories, and a more extensive map.
In competition, “The Ultimate Competition” presents a $3 million prize pool in SHRAP, with leaderboards resetting after each STX event and monthly during the “Always-On” phase. Specific details will be announced a week before each event.
Shrapnel Will Become a ‘Free to Play’ Game
STX1 features three unique weapons: the “HGS1 Leo” pistol, the “MR84 Special” assault rifle, and the “CSG5 Doorbreaker” shotgun. The Sigma Wave, the first Sigma ability, uses accumulated energy to launch a tactical projectile. Another exciting addition is the inclusion of over a dozen playable operator characters, meeting community demands.
STX1 Early Access begins on February 8, 2024, with gaming sessions available twice a month for 2-3 days, subject to changes based on community feedback. SHRAPNEL shares polished and unpolished map areas to illustrate the development process, promoting transparency and community participation.
Following STX1, SHRAPNEL evolves into the “Always-On” Early Access, offering continuous servers, new missions, persistent progression, weapons, and varied game modes. Eventually, SHRAPNEL will become a free-to-play game, eliminating the need for Extraction Packs.
