Yield Guild Games (YGG) made a strong presence at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2023. The conference was held in San Francisco, California, from March 20-24, 2023. GDC is a huge networking and learning event for game developers.
So, this year, members of remote organizations like YGG met with game developers and partners in person. YGG highlighted how Web3 games would shape the future of gaming in events, panels, and private meetings.

Yield Guild Games House of Shields Mixer
Firstly, YGG shared its new brand identity and dApp in a network mixer at the House of Shields. So, despite bad weather, over 175 attendees including developers, studios, investors, and other key players, came. Notable attendees included the following:

YGG Partner Event at Hotel Zetta
Secondly, YGG also hosted another event with partners Azra Games, BreederDAO, and XPLA at Hotel Zetta. The event celebrated Azra Games’ US$10 million raise with a16z, BreederDAO’s AI Skins tool, XPLA’s coin listing, and YGG’s rebrand. Co-founder of YGG Gabby Dizon also took part in two panels, which were side events. So, he spoke at the NFT Gaming Debate hosted by the Homebrew Crypto Club and took part in the panel discussion too. The latter was âPlay-to-earn, Play-and-own â Whatâs Next for Games and Guilds,â and its host was the Mobile Growth Association.
Busy Week for the Yield Guild Games Team
The YGG team had over 80 meetings with investors, portfolio firms, guild partners, and game partners. One highlight was hosting a discussion with Gabriel âGabeâ Leydon, the CEO and co-founder of Limit Break. He is behind the NFT project, DigiDaigaku. Gabe shared his vision of using free NFTs to build a strong community.
Finally, Gabby Dizon also met with some members of the press during GDC week. He sat down for interviews with Dean Takahashi, Kate Irwin, and TJ Manotoc. So, he was able to share key points behind YGGâs latest projects and how the guild is utilizing Soulbound Tokens. YGGâs new brand identity and its commitment to supporting the community of lifelong gamers were also topics of interest.
