The Guild Advancement Program (GAP) wrapped up its eighth season, highlighting the introduction of Onchain Guilds, a new feature implemented on the Base blockchain. This update, announced during the Yield Guild Games Play Summit, allowed guilds to undertake coordinated quests and compete on leaderboards to earn token rewards. Throughout the season, 75 guilds registered on the platform, with 49 completing at least one quest. NFT X-Street stood out by achieving the highest number of completions.
Between November 15, 2024, and January 8, 2025, GAP recorded the participation of 21,452 players, marking a 161% increase compared to the previous season. Ninety-five percent of users completed at least one quest, engaging with titles such as Anichess, Blast Royale, Champions Tactics, Immortal Rising II, MapleStory Universe, and Space Nation. Anichess, a collaborative game developed by Animoca Brands and Chess.com, topped registrations with 12,700 participants, followed by Blast Royale with 9,600 and Immortal Rising II with 9,200.

A Fruitful Year for Yield Guild Games and GAP Season 8
In addition to games, the season featured tasks related to Web3 and DePIN technology, such as data labeling and content creation. Over 8,600 participants joined the YGG Future of Work quests, while other notable activities included events hosted by regional guilds like YGG Pilipinas and YGG Vietnam.
Specific activities allowed players to earn points and progress on the Rewards Center maps, accumulating YGG tokens and enhancing their benefits through the staking system known as The Stake House. Nearly 1,500 participants staked a total of 765,000 YGG tokens, gaining multipliers on their rewards.
The season also saw the debut of seven new titles on GAP, expanding the range of quests and rewards in an environment designed to provide more opportunities for players and guilds.
