This update introduces significant changes to the leaderboard scoring system and offers a variety of new game modes and features aimed at enhancing the player experience.
Transition to Weekly Scoring
Based on player feedback, GOG has transitioned from Global Cumulative Scoring to Global Weekly Scoring for the leaderboards. This means that each week’s leaderboards will be scored independently across all game modes, providing a fresh start and new opportunities for players every week. The total leaderboard token rewards for December will be 1,500,000 tokens.
End of Year Office Shutdown
Immutable, the company behind GOG, will undergo an end-of-year office shutdown from December 23, 2024, until January 3, 2025. During this period, only critical staff will remain to ensure the smooth operation of essential systems. As a result, no token rewards can be paid out during this time. To guarantee that rewards are handed out before Christmas, GOG will evaluate and allocate rewards based on two weeks of leaderboard results before the system goes offline.
New Game Modes and Features
Week 3 of December will be a special week for GOG, with the release of a variety of new game modes and features aimed at improving the quality of life and testing brand-new features. Due to the new content expected this week, only the Special Event mode will be scored in Week 3. Token rewards will be modified to lessen the competitive pressure on players.
