Axie Infinity launches the PvP Arena Season 20. This launch comes after the release of the Season 20 economic balancing adjustment. This announcement was made at 10:17 AM GMT+1 via the Axie Infinity Twitter handle. Details of the new season are as follows.

Details of the Axie Infinity PvP Arena Season 20
The PvP Arena season 20 goes live today, the 9th of February 2022. In this new season, the game is offering players more stability. As such, the MMR has been reset and everyone starts at 1200. Players will earn over $7 million USD worth of AXS in rewards. Axie is also removing the 25 SLP rewards from daily quest.
This removal will help Axie save about 45 million SLPs per day. It will also help increase the rarity and price of this in-game token. Despite the removal of this reward from daily quests, Axie is not abandoning the quest idea. It still plans to re-introduce it in the furture. However, this reintroduction will follow the new burn mechanism and new features.
Furthermore, players will no longer get SLPs from the Adventure Mode. This includes the SLP rewards players get from completing that mode the first time. Therefore, even new players will not get SLPs for completing this mode. It is also reducing SLP rewards in certain MMR brackets. Henceforth, trainers under 800 MMR will now get 1 SLP per win.
Below are the new SLP rewards for the various MMR brackets
- 0 to 999 MMR – 0 – 1 SLP per win
- 1000 to 1099 MMR – 3 SLP per win
- 1100 to 1299 MMR – 6 – 5 SLP per win (Rank default)
- 1300 to 1499 MMR – 9 – 6 SLP per win
- 1500 to 1799 MMR – 12 – 8 SLP per win
- 1800 to !999 MMR – 15 – 10 SLP per win
- 2000 to 2499 – 18 – 12 SLP per win
- 2500+ MMR – 14 SLP per win
Asides shrinking the rewards, Axie is increasing the leaderboard. In Season 20, there will now be 300,000 slots on the leaderboard. This also means that the amount of AXS rewards will also increase.
Bug Fixes and Other Changes
Away from the economic balancing, Axie Infinity is also improving the PvP Arena. Following this update, the Bulkwark/Tiny Catapult now interacts properly with the Carrot/Snail Shell. Similarly, the Bulkwark?Tiny Catapult now interacts properly with the Sponge/Bone Sail. Before now, players could hold more than 12 cards. With this update, players will no longer be able to do so.
