GOAT Gaming slips real Pokémon cards into its GrabGifts shop

Rebel gamer opens a neon-lit chest; tokenized Pokémon cards on TON emerge as holograms with certificates.

TL;DR

  • GOAT Gaming sells authenticated Pokémon cards as tokenized boxes for 3 TON each, linking physical collectibles to blockchain-based digital ownership.
  • The offering saw 225 of its 1,000 total boxes sell by end-October, creating a limited and trackable inventory for interested buyers and collectors.
  • Each token acts as a deed, enabling owners to resell their box for TON on GrabGifts without the logistical challenges of shipping physical items.

On October 22, 2025, GOAT Gaming listed verified physical Pokémon cards for sale on its GrabGifts platform. The offering consisted of one thousand boxes priced at three TON each. This release connects a tangible cardboard card to a tradable on-chain token. The model has drawn attention from digital asset traders and Web3 organization treasuries.

Mighty Bear Games, the developer of GOAT Gaming, partners with authentication service Courtyard.io. Their process involves inspecting each individual card, placing it in secure storage, and creating a corresponding digital token on The Open Network blockchain. This dual approach aims to anchor a tradable digital asset to a verified physical object.

Every purchase delivers a Telegram gift message and one randomly selected card from a set of ten possibilities. The potential cards include Charizard, Pikachu, and Blastoise. The company maintains a limited production run, which allows for straightforward tracking of each unit. Records from late October showed 775 boxes remaining from the original one thousand.

The project links physical collectibles with digital ownership records

Token holders can sell their ownership rights for TON directly on the GrabGifts marketplace. This method bypasses the logistical tasks of physical storage and shipment. The initial authentication step also intends to minimize the circulation of counterfeit items within this system.

Each box purchase requires a payment of three TON, creating a use case for the cryptocurrency. A seller can immediately list the token for resale. However, the buyer market for these tokens may remain limited without broader collector interest.

Courtyard.io assumes full responsibility for verifying the authenticity of every card. The blockchain record provides clear proof of token ownership. It does not, however, eliminate traditional risks such as legal disputes or physical handling issues during the initial authentication phase.

This entire process demonstrates the tokenization of a physical good—converting a real-world item into a blockchain-based deed of ownership. Gamers note that the future sales rate of the remaining 775 boxes will be crucial. Sufficient trading volume is necessary for institutional treasuries or active traders to treat these tokenized assets as a liquid holding.
