Illuvium has released a balance patch with version 1.7.0, aimed at adjusting several key systems of the game, such as Illuvials, synergies, and augments.
These changes aim to improve combat speed and address balance issues related to team compositions and support units, such as the Empath Illuvials. Instead of detailing each unit, the developers highlight the major changes, leaving the specific details for players to discover within the game.
Changes Within Illuvium
One of the most important changes in this patch is the reduction of Illuvials’ overall health and resistance by 25%. In addition, damage per second (DPS) formulas have been adjusted, and the type of damage in Illuvials’ basic attacks has been standardized to only deal physical damage, with the exception of one specific unit. A damage component has also been added to the Omega abilities of Empath units, and changes have been made to attack speed and attack damage, with adjustments ranging from 5% to 25%.
Regarding augments, the normal augment system has been restructured, categorizing them according to the type of combat. Augments now belong to a defined category, such as Fury (Offensive), Defiance (Tank), and Apex (Offensive Omega). Players can combine components to create specific augments. The augments are also being renamed to better align their effects with the abilities they provide.
Restructuring of Synergies
On the other hand, a restructuring of synergies has been done, with a clear distinction between primary and composite synergies. Primary synergies now grant an enhanced effect to synergy units, and the thresholds to unlock special abilities have been adjusted. Composite synergies have been redesigned to provide unique abilities that affect gameplay in more specific ways.
This patch also includes changes to how stats and mod effects are calculated in world encounters, improving the clarity of effect descriptions and fixing some technical issues.
