Patch 1.6.0 for Illuvium introduces several key changes aimed at improving the game’s performance and overall player experience.
The most significant update is the migration of the game’s servers to a multiplayer infrastructure. This migration directly addresses issues related to server desynchronization, a problem that previously caused various bugs. As a result, players can expect a smoother and more stable gameplay experience, with reduced latency and faster response times.
Another important feature added in this update is the introduction of Drone Augments. These augments provide team-wide bonuses, allowing players to enhance their team composition by stacking synergies and effects. Currently, only 15 Drone Augment effects are available, but this pool will be expanded in future updates. While this feature adds a new layer of strategic depth, the user interface (UI) for Drone Augments is still in development, with plans for further improvements.
New Strategic Features and Enhancements in Illuvium
The patch also includes the addition of Custom Tournament Lobbies. Players can now create lobbies specifically for tournaments, with the option to enable or disable Leviathan mode and use features like a ready-check and the ability to remove players. Custom lobbies offer a more efficient way to organize and enjoy non-rated matches with friends, though they require a full party of eight players to start, as matchmaking is not available.
In terms of gameplay adjustments, the Team Planner functionality has been improved. If players have a Stage 2 or Stage 3 Illuvial in their active team, the Stage 1 version of that Illuvial will now be highlighted in the shop, making it easier to spot and purchase when available.
The update also brings changes to several user interface panels, including the shop, top, and enemy panels, to improve overall navigation. Additionally, the sound effects (SFX) have been enhanced across various actions and units, adding a more polished auditory experience. Notably, the visual effects for Augments now include an aura around them, and when hovering an Augment over an Illuvial, it is clearly represented within the Illuvial itself.
