The Red Village is marking its first anniversary on the 17th of November, 2022. TRV is issuing a recap of the past 12 months to celebrate this milestone. This initiative will give everyone insights as to how far the project has come and the fun the community had. It begins with recounting the journey that began almost two years ago.

The Rev Village was inaugurated in the final quarter of 2020 with the idea of a classic MMORPG Runescape. It was built on the firm belief that emerging technologies like blockchain can change how users own and play games. This belief soon became a reality as many GameFi projects launched between 2020 and 2021. Similarly enough, NFTs also gained popularity. However, these non-fungible tokens seemed to lack utility.
Considering this challenge, The Red Village knew it had to offer players more than profile pictures. The team must build a virtual universe to power immersive experiences and entertain users. This is what they did. They created a fantasy world that infuses actual ownership of digital assets.
These foundations were the ideas guiding the development of the game:
- Emphasis will be on building a fun game. This increases the chances of success.
- TRV must focus on fostering a community by building a social gaming ecosystem.
- Players must be able to progress and support the vibrant economy.
Details of The Red Village Anniversary Celebration
The Red Village will organize a cup tournament to celebrate its first anniversary. This contest will go live at 7:00 PM Eastern Standard Time on Thursday, the 17th of November 2022. It will be a quick, no-holds-barred event. There are no entry barriers, and every player can join this competition. It will continue till Friday, the 18th of November, by 6:59 PM EST.
This tournament will employ a straight-draw format, and there will be no leaderboard. The team will randomly announce the winners by Tuesday, the 22nd of November. Interested persons can also learn more about the competition from TRV Gitbook Page.
The top three participants will receive the following rewards:
- 1st prize: $1,000 + an Unblooded R3 Paladin + 5 Sandbox avatars (one of each class)
- 2nd prize: $500 + Blood Portal
- 3rd prize: $250 + Mystic Bones
