The Sandbox Partners with WoW Foundation

To celebrate International Women’s Day, Sandbox is creating a culture that celebrates inclusion and equal opportunities for women in the NFT community. This includes partnering World of Women to kickstart the growth of the newly formed WoW foundation. Here is all you need to know.

Details of the Sandbox and WoW Foundation Partnership

As part of this partnership, Sandbox will be offering a $25 million grant to the WoW Foundation. However, payment of this money will spread across a period of five years. More so, this funding will provide business development opportunities across the growing networks of The Sandbox, Animoca Brands, and Brinc.

Both parties will work together to amplify the representation of women in web3 spaces. Their focus will be on four main pillars. They include:

  • Uplifting the ecosystem by supporting artists and funding projects
  • Educating newcomers
  • Communicating to give more visibility to women-centric causes, while inspiring others
  • Giving back to charities

Speaking of this partnership, Sebastien Borget had positive things. Here is what the COO and Co-Founder of The Sandbox had to say:

“This partnership signals our intent to invest long term in shaping a diverse and inclusive space for women to thrive in Web3 within our metaverse. Through facilitating the education and funding of women’s projects we hope these programs help establish a generation of influential women builders in the space.”

Initiatives and Developments From this Partnership

WoW Foundation NFT

Sandbox also intends to guide and support female creators to enable them to succeed in web3. It will also mentor them from the stage of minting their NFTs to exhibiting them for sale within the metaverse. In addition, the blockchain gaming brand will fund the following initiatives involving the World of Women Foundation:

World of Women 3D Interoperable Avatars :The Sandbox acquired the most expensive WoW NFT as a means of supporting the World of Women Foundation. The name of this NFT was Aurora at the time of purchase. After buying this avatar however, the was named the new “Goddess” of the metaverse.

The Wow Museum: In addition, there will be a museum within the Sandverse. In this regard, there will be a 2×2 LAND dedicated to supporting and showcasing the WoW foundation.

WoW University: As a means of also introducing more women to blockchain, crypto and NFTs, Sandbox be launching an online university. As such, the university will provide free online lessons on how to get started and become proficient with Web3. Upon completion of these courses, students will get a NFT diploma and be certified.

The WoW Academy: To further support students who graduate from the WoW University, there will be an incubator program. In this program, projects and artists will receive advice, funding, mentoring, and access to The Sandbox’s and World of Women’s network. Furthermore, this academy will operate in seasons. At the end of each season, there will be a showcase of the results of that season.
