Unlock Additional EP with Keys
Throughout Alpha Season 4, players will encounter games with “Premium Areas” that are NFT-gated. These areas contain quests that reward more EP than normal quests found outside these zones. To access these premium areas, players need to hold specific Keys. There are two types of Keys: Partner Keys and Category Keys.
Partner Keys
Partner Keys unlock access to premium areas based on the experiences of the associated partner. For example, the “Ubisoft Partner KEY” grants access to the premium areas inside the Captain Lazerhawk and Rabbids experiences. Each Partner Key costs 5 SAND and can be purchased on The Sandbox Marketplace.
Category Keys
Category Keys unlock content in all experiences of Alpha Season 4 that belong to a specified category. There are ten categories, including ART, CULTURE, ENTERTAINMENT, FASHION/LUXURY, and various gaming genres. Each Category Key costs 30 SAND and allows access to all premium areas within the category.
Using and Reselling Keys
Once a Key is in a player’s wallet, they can join the associated experience and access the NFT-gated quests. Keys can be resold if they have not been used, but once a Key unlocks content, its metadata changes to reflect its new status, indicating it has been used. Players should be cautious when purchasing Keys on the secondary market to ensure they are buying unused Keys.
Unlock Rewards with NFTs
Certain gated zones in Alpha Season 4 offer quests that grant instant SAND rewards. These zones are located in the Alpha Season 4 Hub and require a Hub Partner Pass to access. These NFTs are granted to players who own an Alpha Pass and progress through the Alpha Season 4 Battle Pass by claiming EP.
