Axie Infinity has launched Axie Pals, a new Google Chrome extension that allows users to interact with their Axies, the game’s NFT characters, in a way similar to a Tamagotchi.
With Axie Pals, Axie owners can feed, pet, and care for their characters directly from their browser. This release is part of Axie Infinity’s ecosystem expansion, aiming to bring Axie interactions outside the game environment and into a browser experience.

The extension has been developed by Kindred, an external team that has worked on other virtual companion projects. This initial version features limited functionalities, although future updates are expected to introduce more advanced actions and behaviors.
Currently, users can select up to three Axies to interact with, performing actions such as feeding, petting, or putting them to sleep. Additionally, they can move them around the screen while browsing the internet.
Axie Will Reward Interactions with AXP and AXS
A key feature of Axie Pals is the ability to earn AXP, a currency used within the ecosystem. This can be earned passively by keeping the extension active or actively by performing actions like feeding or petting the Axies. The amount of AXP earned depends on each Axie’s “Care Index,” an indicator that reflects the level of attention given to them.
Additionally, a leaderboard has been launched, allowing players to compete for AXS rewards. Players who maintain a high level of care for their Axies can accumulate points. Those with the highest scores during the campaign period will receive rewards. A referral contest has also been introduced, where users who invite others to join Axie Pals can earn additional AXS.
It is important to note that the extension requires permissions to read and modify data on websites. Though the Kindred team assures that no personal information is collected or stored. This is relevant for users who have privacy concerns when using the new tool.
