The hub is inspired by the energy and visual spirit of the renowned neighborhood in NYC. The partnership was revealed by the president of TIME, Keith A. Grossman, during the NFT.NYC event organized by The Sandbox. According to Grossman, the goal of the company is to build a destination that will be the core of the metaverse.

He went further to mention that since the launch of TIMEPieces in 2021, the team has focused on building a community in Web3 leveraging on the extraordinary 100-year legacy of TIME.
